Leveling Up Continued (15/10/2019)
In the end I resolved to make the Switch statements into Ifs instead which fixed the problem but made it a bit messy. Realising this I decided to make Leveling Up or Down their own scripts and put some If statements to make sure the aura didn't change when the player just wants to change the aura level.
I am having second thoughts on allowing leveling up freely as the mechanic is a bit finicky so I wouldn't want it to be a central mechanic. I'm going to look into allowing switching through; marked areas, usable items or temporary power-ups.
Leveling Up (09/09/2019)
Leveling up in Radius would be done through "orbs" that can be collected through: exploration, boss battles and buying orb shards. An orb can then be set to one of your aura abilities, powering it up. I originally planned for you to be able to reset your aura at any save point, however I have worked on system to change it at any time. Holding down Shift and then tapping the Aura you want to improve levels it up. Alternatively you can hold Ctrl instead which will level down your selected aura instead.
Now the problem, I only want it to trigger on the initial button press. But the I haven't been able to find a usable expression for my switch statement, the closest has been "keyboard_key" which triggers while the button is down.
E3 2019 (23/06/2019)
From E3 I am most interested in Nintendo's offerings; Astral Chain, Fire Emblem Three Houses and Breath of the Wild 2, to name a few. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin appears to be a Japanese inspired resource management fighting game (?), which looks very nice and is published by XSeed who do very good localisations (They are responsible for localising the Legends Of series and (most of) the Ys series). I was hoping for something on Shin Megami Tensei V, but no, hopefully there will be something at the Tokyo Game Show later this year.
Radius Development (26/05/2019)
I'm working on is a top-down action game. I am currently working on a v0.1 build to put on the site. In the game you have aura around you that has effects on your enemies. The gameplay design is based on the game term "kite/kiting" where deal damage while keeping you foes from you.
